Mantrailing –K9 Detect and Find Certified Trainers & The College of Scent Dogs From €65
Awaken your dogs seeking system and train with instructors that are certified by “The College of Scent” and K9 Detect and Find! Suitable for all breeds over 16 weeks, even dogs that can be reactive or nervous. Each dog works one at a time and does not meet other dogs. During your introduction, we will teach you and your dog the ‘game’ which is following a specific scent to find a person. All Dogs wear a harness and work on a ten metre longline, which we can lend you.
On a day to day basis dogs rely on us for most things and and rarely make autonomous decisions themselves. When Mantrailing however, it is the dog that learns to makes the decisions and gain confidence through developing problem solving skills. They also develop impulse control as they learn how to manage frustration when seeking and exploring the correct direction.
Once you have undertaken an introduction, you then have the option to join our Mantrailing Club to train between workshops. Our programme starts off in woodland areas where scent is easier to trail and then we work in urban and wide open, rural landscapes as the team gains experience. We welcome and have workshops available to suit all levels of experience. Each workshop is 6 hours in duration approx and practice session are 2 hours long.
